I just started working on Morgan and Ben's December wedding but I only have one photo for you guys at the moment.
I will say that the rest are even better though. Good light, good locations, and a really cool couple make my job super easy.
I'll get the rest up sometime soon.
In the mean time, I'll give you guys an update on the TIMWILL Charleston weddings and portrait studio.
Brandon Lata (www.fellicistudio.com) came down last weekend from Buffalo to help with renovations (because he's an incredibly generous friend) and we worked our asses off around the clock trying to finish everything up.
Unfortunately, the dust in this place made our job impossible. I spent the night before Brando got in knocking down those boards from the rafters and by the time I left you could barely see across the studio because of the dust. I spent the entire next day cleaning while Brando started on electric work and then we discovered two other ledges above the rafters with about 4 inches of dust accumulated. Two ledges, 50 feet long with 4x4 inches of dust. Rented a shop vac which didn't work and blew dust everywhere and then tried to hold it up on the ladder while vacuuming. Didn't work. Had to knock all the dust down and then re-shop vac the entire place the next day.
SO, we spent 2.5 days cleaning dust with a piece of shit shop vac that clogged every 5 minutes and blew so much dust everywhere that we still have a huge mess on our hands. Brando flew back to Buffalo and I'm sick as a dog from inhaling all of that 150 year old dust.
This job sucks.
Oh, and I pulled nails out of the beams from the rafters for 4 hours straight to make the re-claimed wood wall.
So, yeah, this project may never be completed. I still need to install windows, paint, lighting, do floor molding and crown molding, paint that, and then comes the huge task of decorating. Wow. I'm overwhelmed.
I'm sure it'll get done eventually though. And someday, this space is going to be incredible.
If there's anyone out there that feels like swinging by and working for free in a very dirty environment along side a wheezing T Dubs, shoot me an email ;)

Also, the blog guys (link at the bottom of the blog) fixed the image clarity issue so everything should be nice and crisp now.
PSS: I still have the flash website with music and slideshows, etc that you can see via the 'Portfolio' button in the navigation bar.
Wow. That email blast (I promise to do that as rarely as possible) was really helpful in getting the word out. We had 500 new visits to the blog yesterday alone!
Thanks so much to you guys who commented. It wasn't just my mom making up different names and comments, I promise. Also, thanks to everyone who clicked the like button for facebook. That's super helpful.
We're still ironing out a few problems with the blog at the moment. One thing we've had requests for is an RSS feed. Probably a good idea.
Another thing a few people pointed out to me is that the images aren't showing up quite clear enough on the blog. So, we're working on that. For some reason, going from hard drive to internet always screws things up but hopefully we'll get it squared away soon.
Anyways, since this blog is so easy to use, I'm going to post a quick couple images of the new studio I'm renovating.
It's 2 doors down, and 3 times the size of the old space. Sure, it doesn't have any electricity, heating, plumbing, windows or air but we'll get to that.
I spent yesterday pulling down dry wall to expose some of the old-as-dirt brick and I also pulled down the really ugly boards that were attached to the rafters. There was literally 3-4 inches of dust in places so today I'm tackling the impossible job of cleaning. I rented a shop vac but it's a POS.
Those of you who went to Catholic grade school know what that acronym is.
So, at this point, I'm just trying to get it clean and useable while figuring out how to set it up and decorate.
I would love any input out there about a great way to utilize this space. It has a ton of potential!
Don't be shy. I need help here...
PS: I'm very sorry to put these ugly dirty photos on top of all those beautiful ones from yesterday but it had to be done. Most of them were taken on my handy dandy iPhone so don't judge me on clarity this time people. (You know who you are)
2010 was our busiest year yet! Thanks to every one of my clients! Thanks to every florist, coordinator, musician and every other vendor that made the weddings I've attended so great this year.
Thanks be to God we didn't have any problems this year and we had nice weather for at least half of the weddings ;)
Thanks to my amazing wife who brought Benjamin into the world this year. And thanks to all of you who have checked in here in-spite of the fact that I NEVER post :( and thanks to anyone who has referred me!
Lastly, thanks to me because I am awesome! Ha. That's a joke although Sarah probably isn't laughing.
This year was definitely our busiest yet and not just because we had more weddings and engagement shoots than ever before but also because we re-located to Charleston, rented and renovated a studio, bought a house, and had another baby. Any one of those things alone might have taken a lesser man to the brink of insanity. But, everything has gone well and I'm not insane. No. I'm not.
Speaking of insane, 2011 is going to be. I already have more weddings booked than I shot last year and they're still coming in. I have a little more availability especially in July, August, and November so please spread the word to anyone you know who is tying the not. We love word of mouth!
Regarding blogging, I have been working on a new blog over the past few weeks with my good friend Dave and his amazingly talented designer (their link is at the bottom of the blog: Do Good Works)
It's way better. I've got a great contact form right here on the blog, more info about timwill photography including some pricing information and frequently asked questions and I've got a section that will be growing about local vendors who I've worked with and who I'd recommend in the future. Please do check them out!
The greatest feature of the new blog, however, is postability. What, you might ask, is postability? Well, before when I wanted to make a post I had to jump through 15 different hoops to get images online.
This new blog is as easy to use as the facebook uploader so hopefully I'll be able to post much more frequently. Aside from my 100 other new years resolutions, I'm going to be trying really hard to do 2 posts a week. The more comments I get and people I have clicking the 'Like' button for facebook (there's one after each post), the more fuel I'll have for posting.
I've got a lot of work to do, a lot of images to post, and a lot of news to write about so hopefully I'll be back on with another post in a couple days!

Sarah, my wonderful wife, really amazed me this time with Willoughby 2.0
I didn't think I could love number dos as much as Dom but I really do. He's completely perfect. Ears, nose, eyes, short brown hair. And a huge cleft in his chin.
And as soon as they make a raw plugin for the brand new Nikon D3100 I will put up a ton of photos! In the meantime, you guys are stuck waiting. I've got one tiny black and white for you guys for now and the other photos are of Sarah a few hours before we went to the hospital and Dominic watching and stealing the spotlight.
This beautiful southern wedding held in Augusta, Georgia was a great representation of southern hospitality and charm. The ceremony was held downtown Augusta at Holy Trinity and the reception was at a beautiful retired church called Sacred Heart that now serves as a historic attraction/museum. The amazing Clyde Farr designed and coordinated the event and I'm pretty confident all 500 guests were blown away by the decor. We only had a few minutes (in the dark) for photography after the wedding so we did a day after session at the near by Redcliffe Plantation.
